ABOUT WELNUT · PUNE

She had the charts. The credentials. The career inside India's best hospitals and wellness organisations. And she kept watching people fail. Not because the science was wrong. Because something else was missing entirely.

Seventeen years of clinically correct plans. Thousands of motivated people. And the same pattern, over and over — real change that lasted three weeks, then quietly unravelled. Swati Dandgawal stopped asking "what's wrong with the plan?" and started asking a harder question: "what's actually standing between this person and the life they want?"

Welnut is the answer she built.

This is not the story of a dietitian who opened a clinic. It's the story of someone who walked away from a successful institutional career because she'd seen enough to know the system wasn't built to finish what it started. Welnut was built to finish it.

WHY WELNUT EXISTS

The clinical system is exceptional at diagnosis. It was never designed to hold someone's hand through the Wednesday night craving.

CLINICAL FOUNDATION

Swati didn't start her career in a quiet wellness studio. She started in the ICU corridors and outpatient wards of Deenanath Mangeshkar Hospital, Jehangir Hospital, Shree MultiSpeciality Hospital—  Pune's most respected medical institutions. This was nutrition science under pressure: diabetic patients post-surgery, hypertensive patients managing multiple medications, complex metabolic cases where getting the diet wrong had consequences. She became, quietly, very good at clinical precision.

THE WELLNESS DIMENSION

Then she crossed into wellness — VLCC, GOQii, Dr. Batra's — where the clinical urgency was lower but the human challenge was steeper. These were people who were not sick enough to be afraid, but struggling enough to be stuck. Habits formed over decades. Identities built around stress eating. Busy professionals who knew exactly what they should do and found themselves, again and again, not doing it. The question stopped being "what's the correct plan?" and became "why won't this plan stick?"

THE PATTERN THAT WOULDN'T GO AWAY

The answer, it turned out, was always the same. Not the food. Not the chart. Not even the science. It was the hour after a terrible day at work. The family gathering that unravelled three months of effort in a weekend. The voice that says one bad meal makes the whole thing pointless. The body that has learnt to use food as its most reliable source of comfort — and has been doing so for so long that discipline feels like punishment. No diet chart addresses that. No app catches it. No recorded module reaches the moment when it actually matters.

THE DECISION TO BUILD DIFFERENTLY

Swati didn't leave institutional medicine because it wasn't working. She left because she could see exactly where it stopped — and she had spent long enough watching that gap swallow people's progress to know she wanted to build something on the other side of it. Not a clinic that sees you and sends you home with a sheet. A programme that stays.

"A diet chart tells you what to eat. It has never been able to tell you who you need to become to eat that way every day. That's what Welnut exists to bridge."

Most programmes fix one layer.
Welnut fixes all three — simultaneously.

1

Nutrition

Science-backed, personalised diet plans built around your food preferences, your specific condition, and your Pune lifestyle. Not a generic template. Not a national plan applied locally. Delivered by Swati — the same dietitian, start to finish.

2

Mindset Coaching

Live, structured, 1-on-1 CBT and NLP-based sessions. Not pre-recorded videos, not a PDF guide, not an app nudge. Delivered at critical junctures in the programme by Praful Dandgawal, a certified CBT and NLP practitioner.

3

Lifestyle design

Habit design built for your real life — your work schedule, sleep patterns, Pune commute, wedding season, travel, and family kitchen. Sustainable because the plan bends to you, not the other way around.

Why the mindset layer is not optional: CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)— is not a wellness trend. It is the most rigorously studied clinical intervention for eating behaviour change, emotional eating, and the disordered thinking patterns that make consistency impossible. NLP (Neuro Linguistics Programming) addresses the identity-level dimension: not just what you do, but who you believe yourself to be. Praful delivers both live, 1-on-1 at the moments in the programme when habits are actively breaking or forming. This is what "mindset coaching" actually means when done by a practitioner rather than a content creator.

THE PEOPLE BEHIND THE PROGRAMME

Swati Dandgawal

Founder · Chief Dietitian & Nutritionist · Welnut

BSc Food Science & Nutrition

PGDP Dietetics

Swati Dandgawal trained and practiced across two distinct worlds: the clinical rigor of Pune's leading hospitals like Deenanath Mangeshkar, Jehangir, Shree Multi Specialty Hospital and the scale-and-habit challenges of India's largest wellness organizations VLCC, and Dr. Batra's. This dual exposure is rare, and it is the reason Welnut's programmes carry both hospital-grade scientific precision and the human empathy of a coach who has helped thousands of people find what actually works for their lives.

Most people Praful works with are not struggling because they lack discipline. They are struggling because sustained pressure the kind that comes with leadership, targets, and a calendar that never quite empties quietly degrades the thinking, judgment, and steadiness that good decisions require. He knows this world from 17+ years inside it. That foundation, layered with applied psychology, neuroscience, NLP, and cognitive behavioural coaching, shapes the way he works at Welnut.

Within Welnut programmes, his sessions are live and 1-on-1 — designed to surface the specific thought patterns, emotional triggers, and identity beliefs that are making change feel harder than it should be and dismantle them methodically.
